The Pom-Pom Girls of IPL-2

Get ready to see some plunging necklines and rising hemlines when a bunch of “naughty” and “hottie” cheerleaders root from the sidelines to cheer their respective teams during the second season of Indian Premier League (IPL-2) that kicks-off on April 18.

The inaugural season of this multi-million bonanza of cricket saw protests from conservatives in India against the show of bare skin by scantily clad cheerleaders. But, amid the Table Moutains of Cape and wild breezes of Durban, you will see no more pants, but pure and bare short skirt stuff.

The Chosen Angels for Knight Riders
A reality show named ‘Knights and Angels’ was organized by superstar Shahrukh Khan to select a fresh group of cheerleaders for his team Kolkata Knight Riders. After an extensive audition that was conducted across key metros in India, King Khan and the ‘Bengal Tiger’ Sourav Ganguly, who was than the assumed captain of KKR, picked up six angels from a group of 24 young girls to support the Knight Riders. The six Angels are specially trained in flirty acrobatic skills for a scintillating on-field performance by bollywood choreographer Shiamak Davar. The Angels were picked not only on the basis of their beauty and dancing skills, but their energy level, style, poise, personality, attitude, grace, rhythm, and fire were the other factors that secured their position in the final six.

The White Mischief Gals
The Bangalore Royal Challengers now have a brand new team of 24 members to cheer them up in South Africa. The suave and stylish liquor baron Vijay Mallya, who owns the Royal Challengers, has hired the US-based Varsity cheerleader group (renamed as the White Mischief Gals after the Mallya-owned UB Group’s ‘White Mischief’ brand of vodka) to support his team players in the second season of IPL. Wearing white skirts and white tops with red and blue stripes, the White Mischief Gals will travel across South Africa for all Royal Challenger matches during the five-week tournament, offering fans "flirtatious messages and tips", says a company-released statement. Last year the Washington Redskins were there to support the Royal Challengers in India, but they failed to inspire the team as the team performed poorly and finished seventh out of eighth teams. Hope this change in cheerleaders brings in a change in the bad fortunes of the team too.
